Im Senegal sah ich erstmals einen solchen Vogel und war erstaunt, dass es im Tierreich "blau-metallic" Farben gab. Ich glaubte damals, dass es sich um ein seltenes Exemplar handele. Jetzt wurde ich im südlichen Afrika am Sambesi eines Besseren belehrt, denn ich sah viele Blauohrglanzstare.
