  • Why are there circles in the background? Water has a hexagonal crystallographic system.
  • The circles in the background were created using a 15-blade lens. The special feature of this lens is the so-called soap bubble bokeh. When the aperture is wide open, light reflections are shown as circles with a much brighter edge, which actually look like soap bubbles. In order to achieve this effect, however, you need exactly these hard and punctiform light reflections in the background and also a suitable distance from the reflections and also from the actual subject in the foreground.
