After a tough choice between many outstanding photos this time, I finally chose „Green-Smooth-Toxic“ because this one caught my interest right away. Not only is it brilliantly captured with an amazing sharpness and a balanced composition but it also has carefully controlled depth of field to surround the head with the intense green colour. I also love the creative idea, giving an animal that regular symmetric, mathematical precise skin as a form even it is a living thing as you can see in its eye as a counterpoint at the centre.
It’s incredible to think that artists have been inspired by nature since as early as 25000BC. So surely by now it’s all been done before, right? Wrong! Look closer and you’ll find that the ever-changing beauty of nature is all around you, even in the most unexpected places.
This month’s contest is all about appreciating nature in all its forms, the shape of a leaf, a birds eye view, a reflection in water - think less nature in art and more art in nature. Take a leaf out of Albert Einstein’s book: “look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better” then share your creativity for a chance to win!
