Since I know that my image processing software (LUMINAR AI) can bend the contrast quite well, I rely on the centre-weighted integral metering of the PEN F. For landscape photos I make a small exposure bracket (up to + 1 aperture). The couple in this picture here is obviously underexposed at least one stop ... but what about the interesting sky, if I had exposed correctly? Please give me a "like", Rob; otherwise I don't know if you got my answer!

Good Rob! Yes, I just look for the "best exposure". Over the decades I have developed the "light meter in my eye". I have no desire for HDR, so a photo with high subject contrast will always remain a compromise .... The dynamic range of a digital camera does not exceed 14 f-stops (if at all). When photographed against the sun, we even need 20 f-stops! So we have to favor either the highlights or the shadows. But look at the masterpieces of Cartier-Bresson or Gruyaert, etc. (about whom we have exchanged ideas): you will always see eroded skies and shadows without any drawing!
