Der Ehrenpreis gehört zur Familie der Wegerichgewächse (Plantaginaceae). Es gibt über 450 Arten von Ehrenpreisen, die in Europa auf felsigem Hügelland, Geröll, Trockenrasen und zwischen offenen Gehölzen vorkommen. Diese Züchtung ist besonders intensiv blau und hat sehr schöne Blütenzeichnung.
