Lebt nur im Nordwesten Tansanias. Im Ngorongorokrater habe ich ihn sehr häufig gesehen. Etwa so groß wie ein Star, sein Verhalten ähnelt eher den Amseln: Läuft viel auf dem Boden herum und ist wenig scheu. "Rotschwanzweber" heißt er wohl, weil er sein Nest aus Grashalmen mit Eingangsröhren baut
