Um sich gegen Fressfeinde zu schützen, ahmt die Hainschwebfliege (Episyrphus balteatus) mit ihrer gelb-schwarzen Färbung eine wehrhafte Wespe nach. Sie selbst hat aber keinen Stachel und ist völlig harmlos. Die Nachahmung wird auch als Mimikry bezeichnet. Nabu
