Die bis 17mm breite Kartäuserschnecke (Monacha cartusiana) war ursprünglich in Süd- und Westeuropa beheimatet. Durch Verschleppung ist die Art heute in ganz Deutschland verbreitet. Man findet die Tiere im Wiesen-Biotop, auf Ruderalflächen, im Gebüsch oder in Sandgruben „digital-nature.de"
