Gilt in Japan und China als Delikatesse, obwohl es immer wieder zu tödlichen Vergiftungen kommt (Tetrodotoxin). Dieses Exemplar wurde mir am Strand in der Nähe von Dakar (Senegal) direkt vor die Füße gespült. Näher habe ich mich nicht heran getraut.
