Weather in Big Sur is really unpredictable. Day starts with fog, converts into sunny sky and ends with windy sunset. Once you are on Highway1, driving and stopping each 5-10 minute, you must see something more than spectacular. Something like on this picture..one of the best views I have ever seen.
