This was shot in Abisko National Park, 195 km north of the Arctic Circle, in Swedish Lapland. Abisko is a waypoint of the 440 km long Kungsleden hiking trail. The Lapponian Gate or Tjuonavagge (Northern Sami: Čuonjávággi, "Goose Valley") is the U-shaped valley seen in the distance.
