Kampong Phluk is a so-called floating village by the Tonlé Sap lake, with houses constructed on stilts as the water level of the Tonlé Sap increases by up to 10 metres during wet season. The Tonlé Sap river is part of the Mekong river system, with its flow reversing in wet and dry season shifts.
