The “Rabelo” boats from Douro River appeared in the year 1792. They were used to carry in large barrels, the famous Douro wine to the city of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. In 1887 the use of these boats has declined with the advent of the Douro railway. Today is a reminder of tradition and history.
