Along the banks of the Danube is located a moving monument: "Shoes on the Danube" by Gyula Pauer, which commemorates the Jews shot and thrown into the river by Hungarian pro-Nazi militia in 1944. The bronze monument reproduces a row of 60 pairs of shoes and boots left on the edge of the river
