Shot in the evening, as the sun was beginning to set in a meadow. As the temperature dropped, the insects started to slow down, making approaching them much easier. I wanted to show the patterns in the fly's eye, hence went for a shallow depth of field. Challenging to shoot hand held in a breeze!
