El azafrán florece en otoño. Sus estambres se utilizan en la gastronomía española, especialmente en arroces y fideuás, principalmente para dar color amarillo. Sólo luz natural y se subexpuso, con la finalidad de saturar el color, sin necesidad de tocar los tonos en postproduction.
