VAZ 2104 was a popular station wagon in the 80s (still is), not only in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Ladas were exported also to Western countries, and they're much loved for example in the UK and Scandinavia. I grew up in the GDR where they had a higher status than, say, a Wartburg Kombi.
