Der Ursprung dieser Hybriden ist einesteils die botanische Art Schlumbergera truncata und und als zweites S. russeliana. Vorkommend im nördlichen Teil von Rio de Janeiro, San Paulo und dem Orgelgebirge in Ostbrasilien, in Höhenlagen von 1500 m bis über 2000 m. Dort sind es Aufsitzerpflanzen.
