On a windy, but sunny, autumn day, I took a stroll down from Loch Awe Hotel to the bank of Loch Awe. This lake is one of the largest ones in the Highlands and can be accessed from the sea harbour at Oban. There are few boats here, generally, and it's a paradise for kayaking or just cruising along.
