Thyme Broomrape occurs in Sweden only on the islands Öland and Gotland. It lacks chlorophyll and parasitises the roots of the mountain thyme (Thymus serpyllum) and like this grows on dry calcareous soil, such as sloughs, sandy soils and elms.
