Die Geschlechterfindung und Paarung erfolgen direkt auf den Kirschfrüchten (hier: jedoch auf der Hortensie). Die Eier (pro Weibchen etwa 100 bis 250 Stück) werden bei Temperaturen über 16°C in die von grün nach gelb oder gelbrot umschlagenden Kirschen gelegt.
