Der Schönbär gehört zu den wenigen Nachtfalterarten, die auch tagsüber aktiv sind. Seinen Namen verdankt er der auffälligen Färbung und der Raupenbehaarung. Droht dem Falter Gefahr, zeigt er seine leuchtend roten Hinterflügel und signalisiert: Ich bin ungenießbar. @Nabu
