Siamo in Guatemala, nel dipartimento di Escuintla. Questa specie è abbastanza comune e accetta che ci si possa avvicinare. La curiosità è il becco, corto, tozzo e attraversato da solchi, caratteristica ben presente nella seconda parte del nome, sulcirostris.
