6 Months Extended Warranty

NOTE: Since the transfer of the Olympus imaging business effective 1 January 2021, the imaging business has been operated by OM Digital Solutions GmbH  (press release: https://www.olympus-global.com/news/2020/contents/nr01839/nr01839_00000.pdf).

The transfer of the imaging business does not affect Olympus’ warranty obligations for products purchased prior to 1 January 2021.  Any remaining legacy warranty obligations under this 6-month extended warranty are handled by OM Digital Solutions GmbH on behalf of Olympus

The 6-month extended warranty only applies to the following countries: All EU countries, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, and Ukraine.

The extended warranty only applies to Olympus PEN bodies and Olympus OM-D camera bodies purchased from 1 June 2013 to 31 December 2026, Olympus Stylus compact cameras purchased from 1 December 2013 to 31 December 2026, Olympus Four Thirds lenses and Olympus Micro Four Thirds lenses purchased from 1 December 2013 to 31 December 2026 as well as all OM System branded cameras and lenses.

1. Content

The 6-Months-Extended-Warranty prolongs the warranty period of the implied statutory warranty, during which customers can assert claims for defective or faulty deliveries under the local law applicable to the customer.

The 6-Month-Extended-Warranty is not an independent additional warranty, and it is without prejudice to any additionally applicable manufacturer's guarantee.

The 6-Months-Extended-Warranty starts on the day on which the implied statutory warranty period ends.

[The scope and substance of the 6‑Months‑Extended‑Warranty are identical to those of the implied statutory warranty; it does not grant any additional or different rights beyond those available under the statutory warranty]. After that day claims can be brought by the customer for an additional period of 6 months.

The customer has to provide proof of the purchase date to make any claims under the 6-Months-Extended Warranty. Should the customer have been granted an extended warranty period in respect of the same product under another extended warranty promotion, the warranty periods may not be cumulated, and the extended warranty period for the product shall be the longer of the two periods.

2. Conditions of warranty extension

The customer has not unsubscribed from the newsletter when making a claim under the extended warranty. This condition is without prejudice to the customer's right to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Participation in the campaign is voluntary. Each participant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. OM Digital Solutions reserves the right to change terms and conditions with prior notice to the customer.
