The Big Aktru Glacier is the largest glacier in the region. It is separated from the Small Aktru by a short ridge ending in the Karatash peak. A small part of it is visible from the Aktru Gorge to the right of Kara-Tash. The glacier covers an area of more than 11 km2 and has a length of about 8 km.
