Trentotto anni fa, 1 Luglio 1980, la nave Rigoletto, che trasportava autovetture a seguito di un'avaria si incendiò, e venne fatta arenare a San Raineri, Località messinese, vicino alla Madonnina di Messina, simbolo della città. Da quel giorno la nave è in balia del mare.
