Two sumo wrestlers prepare to clash in the 2018 Sumo Championship, Ryogoku Kokugikan national stadium, Tokyo, Japan. Although seated some distance from the action, my 40-150mm F2.8 PRO lens enabled me to get close to the fight for my travel commission.

  • Great shot! I love how you've cropped in on the action. I spent a day at the sumo in Osaka once. The fights only lasted about 30 seconds, but there was 3 minutes of posturing before!

    Thanks ! It was an amazing spectacle; the great thing about photographing it is that however far back I was, the viewfinder brought me so close I could almost feel the wrestlers' power and fury. Amazing place to visit.
