Biography
Born in 1963, he started his photographic activity as an amateur in 1981.
From 2003 on, he started punctual collaborations with National Geographic (Portugal) magazine as a free lancer contributor, which he has interrupted in 2005 when he was invited to work as a Technical Advisor and Editor-in-Chief of the Portuguese photo magazine Super Foto Digital.
By that time, he had already started (1998) teaching photographic technique, which he still does today as the mentor of PhotograPhylia, a registered brand dedicated to photo training for both amateurs and professionals.
He often works under assignment and has published/illustrated several books. Landscape is his favourite photographic genre, both by day and night, but he also does reportage work, covering a broad range of subjects and styles.
In 2014 he was invited by Olympus for joining its visionaries programme, which led him to impart several workshops and key note presentations. He has been working mainly with the E-M1 product range gear, making intensive use of Live Composite and Focus Stacking modes, as well as Infrared.
