Biography
Biólogo y profesor en la Universidad de La Laguna (Tenerife, Islas Canarias). Mi interés por la fotografía surgió hace varias décadas, cuando pude adquirir mi primera cámara gracias a una beca. Más recientemente, con la llegada de la tecnología digital y una vez establecido como profesional de la Biología, estuve en condiciones de retomar mi afición y así tener más razones para estar en contacto con la naturaleza. Tengo la suerte de vivir en un entorno privilegiado, que ofrece imágenes siempre distintas y sorprendentes, un lugar único en el mundo.
Adquirí mi E-M1 Mk II con la intención de aligerar peso, ya fuese en los viajes o al visitar parajes remotos o de acceso complicado. Tiempo después, aprovechando una oferta irresistible, me hice con la E-M1X, fundamentalmente para fotografía de aves.También tengo mucho interés en la fotografía nocturna, de larga exposición y la pintura con luz. Y todo ello, naturalmente, sin renunciar a la calidad.
Y aquí estoy.
Biologist and professor at the University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain). My interest for photography arose decades ago, when I could afford my first camera after winning an academic grant. More recently, once the digital technology had come to stay, and established as a professional of Biology, I returned to this fascinating hobby, another (and very good) reason to keep in touch with nature. I am lucky enough to live in a privileged place, a source of amazing and new images, a unique location in the world.
I bought my E-M1 MkII with the first aim of carrying a lighter load, either in travel or long hicking. Afterwards, and taking advantage of an irresistible offer, I gave a leap forward with the E-M1X, basically for birding photography. I am also interested in night/long exposure/light painting photography. And all of this, of course, without giving up quality.
And here I am.
