As an artist, I'm concerned with photographing itself, my research is about that. Non narrative, not abstract, not reportage, somewhere in between.
Can the 2 dimensinal out off a more dimensional estonish me, attract my attention..
There is no story or theme around my work, there is nothing to say. No statements. Just Witness, Seeing and Experience. To me, a photo is like a painting or drawing, or installation/sculpture in the 2 dimensional. Questioning this and playing with all available to wonder around in 'reality'. They don't have to have a so-called grand vision or purpose.. They just happen out of being present.
To create a fresh surprising coherant apearing of elements in the frame, that feels, seems to evoke a new surplus within that 'reality that's been 'captured', is my goal. To undertake this journey, one can use all that is available and surrounds us.. And an non-judging, curious mindset is necessary.
I don't photograph what's outside, but what's inside me.
Photography is not about chasing a technical feat. To me also not about grasping the much desired, all in that central part of the frame. Everything that has been tought must also be left behind and everything that stand between me and the so-called outside (world) must really fall away. There must be full acceptance of everything that presents itself within the frame as fully useful and new, fresh and without distinction embrased equally. In a non-jugding mentality.-way.. All elements matter and work together. No element can be removed. They are interconnected, working as a whole. And the feel of a direct intimacy with everything in the frame. No distinction between doer and the done...
Seeing beauty in the ordinairy, grace in the mondaine.
Finding something outside as a result of a curious mind, that in that small space that reality has to offer,
where nothing seems interesting enough to create a valuable image.. Within this obvious, so-called boring space
that man and nature become destined to each other, that is a bit different than freely bringing elements together on a canvas from the mind.
It takes great mindfulness, being ready for the one moment (and the right framing) that has happened in seconds and won't come back.
Creating something new out of that 'allready known' with a flame that evokes curiousity, that trancends the known, ordinairy persepctive, and gives a taste of meaning, although it would rather not be possible to put a finger behind it.
By thinking differently, daring to see, daring to move away from already (repetitive) known, it inspired me to almost accidentally start appreciating everything that occurs in a different capacity. It's all about Seeing, making other choices, and the persepctive turns…. It inspires me to go out and discover, experiment and start questioning the for granted taken percieving. ".. the known" ??. To look instead of think and act as new. To re-see, suddenly it could be valuable prospects..?

" The contemplation of things as they are, without error or confusion, without substitution or imposture is in itself a nobler thing than a whole harvest of inventions."
I test other cameras as well, to see what I prefer or not about Olympus. Also see if another brand changes my approach.
The 3:4 ratio doesn't always attract me and gives other perspectives than I'm looking for. Challanges other ways of working. Also it might be some 'safe' ratio to me
